For Employers

A Paid Internship Program (PIP) is a work experience training opportunity where job candidates from Integration Works intern with a community employer for up to 1,040 hours in one year. The PIP allows Integration Works to be the intern’s employer of record, enabling the intern to earn income for the work they provide to their workplace during the internship.

The community employer agreeing to the internship at their workplace incurs none of the payroll costs for the intern’s wages.

$3,240

0 out of 19

The number of paid interns who have been terminated from their internship for substandard work performance or other good cause.

$2,400

Employers are eligible for a Tax credit worth up to this amount of the wages of each intern they directly hire as an employee after the paid internship ends.

How do employers start a Paid Internship Program?

Alter IW determines your workplace may be a match for our Paid Internship Program, we request to schedule a tour for potential applicants to assess job fit and explain workplace expectations and culture.

Next, IW sends you resumes and applications from applicants weve pre-screened as demonstrating key job readiness skills, such as a positive attitude, timeliness, personal responsibility, and proper attire.

Then, you evaluate applicants through your chosen process, such as interviews, volunteering or job shadowing.

If all parties (Employer. IW, and the Intern-Candidate) agree it is a proper fit, IW submits paperwork for PIP autorization.

Once finalized, IW coordinates with the Employer and Intern to create the Intern’s work schedule and contirm their first day.
